<h3>What is Shonan Monorail?</h3><p>The Shonan Monorail is the first suspended monorail (surfege type) for public transportation in Japan. In March 1970, when the Osaka World Expo was held, the line between Ofuna Station and Nishi-Kamakura Station opened for 4.7km (5 stations), and in July 1971 the following year, the line between Nishi-Kamakura and Shonan-Enoshima Station was extended to 1.9km (3 stations). The train runs in 14 minutes (single track) between Ofuna Station in Kamakura City and Shonan-Enoshima Station in Fujisawa City, covering a total of 8 stations and 6.6 km, with approximately 11 million passengers getting on and off the train (as of 2018). 2020, the year the Tokyo Olympics will be held, will mark the 50th anniversary of the line's opening.</p><h3><br></h3><h3>Shonan Monorail Enoshima Line</h3><p><strong>This is a Surfege monorail line that only exists in two locations in Japan.</strong></p><p>It operates 8 times every 7 minutes and 8 times per hour (excluding late nights and early mornings), and is a highly convenient route that connects Ofuna, Kamakura City, Kanagawa Prefecture to Enoshima, Fujisawa City.</p><p>It takes approximately 14 minutes from Ofuna Station to Shonan-Enoshima Station, and approximately 7 and a half minutes from Ofuna Station to Nishi-Kamakura Station, providing highly efficient access and supporting our customers' journeys.</p><p>The appeal of the Shonan Monorail is that you can experience the excitement and exhilaration of a theme park attraction or roller coaster.</p><p>Not only does it operate safely and on time, it also allows you to drive through sharp curves and enjoy the rapidly changing scenery outside the train window, and there are two sections that pass through tunnels, which is unusual for monorails.</p><p><br></p><p></p><p></p>
