Pingyao

Pingyao is an outstanding example of city for Chinese Han nationality during the period from Ming to Qing Dynasty (1368-1911). This ancient town has a history of more than 2,700 years, and owns more than 300 historical relics. Come to Pingyao, back through Ming &amp; Qing Dynasty in this best preserved ancient county in China! Cao Family Courtyard:&nbsp;It is located in the northern part of Beiguang Village, 5 kilometers (about 3.1 miles) southwest of Taigu County, and 50 kilometers from Pingyao. With a history stretching back more than 400 years, It is remarkable for its noble, simple and unpretentious construction. It is built around three large courtyards, which connect three 3-tiered, 17-meter (about 18.6 yards) high buildings that house a total of 277 rooms. These structures are in the architectural style of Ming Dynasty, Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China (1912-1949). Inside the family mansion, you can also find a collection of Qing dynasty treasure which use to belong to the forbidden city, which is really rare to find in other courtyards in this region.<img src="https://ak-d.tripcdn.com/images/1008180000013ywydB56B_Z_1000_0.jpg" imageid="451051043" sourcewidth="6980" sourcehight="4653"><img src="https://ak-d.tripcdn.com/images/100t180000013yrnvD3A3_Z_1000_0.jpg" imageid="451050859" sourcewidth="7360" sourcehight="4912">Zhenguo Temple:The Zhenguo Temple was first built in 963, or the seventh year under the reign entitled Tianhui of the Northern Han Dynasty (951-979). Its major architectural features include the Tianwang Hall (Hall of the Heavenly King), the Drum Tower, the 10,000 Buddha Hall and the Guanyin (Goddess of Mercy) Hall. Of these, the 10,000 Buddha Hall, a historical relic of the Five Dynasties (907-960), is one of the oldest wooden structures still existing in mainland China. Precious states were set up when the hall was built during the reign of Emperor Tianhui of the Northern Han Dynasty. They are the only states of the five Dynasties preserved up to this day, apart from a small number of painted statues that have been found in the Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes.<img src="https://ak-d.tripcdn.com/images/0106w12000684swidF6FF_Z_1000_0.jpg" imageid="497585414" sourcewidth="2500" sourcehight="1667">
