Didn’t think I’d enjoy this as much as I did. Super engaging, funny, and informative guide Michal made it even more enjoyable. Incredible sculptures carved out of salt. Very cool place. Recommend this trip.

Wieliczka Salt Mine was our first stop, the place is amazing and to think that everything you see is carved out from salt, there are roughly 800 steps from top to bottom, although they are not all completed in one go as you visit 3 different levels. The first 320 are completed on your initial descent, each 8 steps lead to a platform where you can rest if needed, there are 40 levels to the start of your tour. The guide spoke perfect English, was easy to understand and was very knowledgeable. The levels themselves are inspirational and took centuries to excavate, carve figures and specific locations such as the main chamber. This is a must see when visiting Krackow and is highly recommended. Auschwitz-Birkenau was our second stop, words cannot describe what you see and feel whilst visiting both of these sites, you must see it yourself to understand. Both of our trips were exceptional due to the knowledge of the local guides and Julia and Michael who were with us from the collection point in the morning to dropping us off at the end of the visits. The packed lunches are only 40 zoty each and were fantastic, they were even eaten by my fussy children, so a massive thumbs up from them and me.


