Reviews: Skip the Line: Vatican Museum, Sistine Chapel & Optional Basilica

Meeting point was easy to find. The tour groups wear shirts with the tour company name on them which makes it easy to find them. The tour was great, guide was great. We learned a lot! The art was beautiful. Wear your walking shoes!

The hotel is very close to Rome Termini train station. There's a Chinese restaurant next door called Wangxianglou (or something similar), their boiled beef is pretty good. There's also a motorcycle rental shop; I have a license, so I rented a Vespa for 3 hours for 45 euros, it was a lot of fun. The hotel is typical European style, the rooms are quite small, and the elevator is especially small. But the facilities are decent, and the cleanliness is acceptable.

The guide was very knowledgeable and shared it in a lighthearted and engaging way. Anyone visiting the museum should go with a guide to fully enjoy the experience!
Reviews: Exclusive Private Tour: Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel and St Peter's Basilica

We did a 3 hour beat the line tour led by Giovanni in a group of 16 on a very busy Saturday in October. I felt that the extra cost worth it for significant reduction in queueing time. Giovanni was a great tour guide, keeping us engaged through via his commentary via the headsets that are handed out as you enter the museum. He picked out several key items and talked them in detail, placing them in historical and religious context of their period. Loved his commentary on Sistine Chapel and Michelangelo, brought the whole work to life, useful guide through otherise overwhelming detail. Would recommend!

The tour itself was good, but I was sent on the wrong tour. I booked the tour starting at 12:15 PM and lasting 150 minutes. That would have allowed me to arrive on time for my meeting afterward. At 12:00 PM, I was informed on-site that the tour wouldn't start until 12:30 PM. After 140 minutes, we still hadn't reached St. Peter's, and the guide said that was the tour that went until 3:30 PM. So I had to cut the tour short before the highlight. Lesson learned: make sure you're sent on the correct tour.
