Inthanon National Park, also known as the “Roof of Thailand,” covers an area of ​​482 square kilometers. The park is part of the Himalayas and ranges from 800 to 2,565 meters above sea level.The park is named in honor of King Inthawichayanon, the last king of Chiang Mai, who cared about the forest in northern Thailand and wanted to protect it. After his death, the remains were placed in the park on his orders and the forest was renamed Doi Inthanon.The flora includes moist evergreen Cloud Forest, sphagnum swamps above 1,800 m, dry evergreen, pine, mixed deciduous teak and dipterocarp forests at lower altitudes.The rainy season is from May to October, with the heaviest rainfall from July to September. The weather is cooler from November to around February. Doi Pui Hmong Hilltribe Village is located near Doi Suthep Mountain. It was originally a settlement of the Hmong people who migrated from Yunnan to northern Thailand. It has now been turned into a tourist attraction. The Hmong people are the representative of the ethnic groups in the mountainous areas of northern Thailand and are one of the six mountain ethnic groups in northern Thailand. The villagers here still retain the traditional clothing and living habits of ethnic minorities.What is famous here is the field of poppy flowers. Poppy is a biennial herbaceous plant of the Papaveraceae family. The whole plant is pink-green, with long oval leaves, cladding stems and facing flowers. It blooms in summer. The poppy flower is a very valuable ornamental plant. It is known as the most beautiful flower in the world. Its flowers are bright and colorful, and its petals are like crepe. It is the best raw material for making terrible things. Note: The Hmong Village has a dress code. Shorts, skirts, tank tops or tank tops are not allowed to enter.
