In the morning, our driver will pick you up from downtown Zhangjiajie and drive to Furong Town, known as the "Millennium Town Hanging on a Waterfall." Enjoy a short stay (approx. 30 minutes) to admire the spectacular waterfall views, stroll along Wuli Stone Street, and experience the charm of this ancient town made famous by the movie Furong Town (admission fee not included).
Then, continue through the green mountains and rivers of Xiangxi, passing by Tujia and Miao ethnic settlements, and feel their unique customs along the way.
Upon arrival at the ancient city of Fenghuang—renowned as "the most beautiful town in China"—begin your visit at the iconic Hongqiao Wind and Rain Bridge, an elegant structure from the Ming Dynasty that beautifully combines bridge and pavilion architecture. Climb to the second-floor viewing platform for a panoramic view of the stilted buildings lining both banks of the Tuojiang River.
Stroll along Green Stone Street and pass through the well-preserved Dongmen Gate (Yinghui Gate), which has witnessed centuries of Fenghuang's history. Experience the local tradition of "rock jumping"—crossing the river via simple stone piers—with clear water flowing beneath and ancient towers reflected like an ink-wash painting.
Also visit the former residence of Shen Congwen, the literary master, and learn the story behind his renowned work Border Town in this classic western Hunan courtyard.
In the afternoon, explore more of the ancient city's deep cultural heritage, including sites such as Xiong Xiling's former residence and Yang Family Ancestral Hall. At the end of the tour, we will drive you back to downtown Zhangjiajie.
