After an early morning pickup from your accommodation in downtown Luoyang at 8:30 AM, meet your guide and board a comfortable private vehicle for the approximately 1.5-hour journey directly to Shaolin Temple, where your guide will share history and stories along the way.
Shaolin Temple is world-famous for its Chinese kung fu. Upon arrival at Shaolin Temple, you'll first witness an authentic kung fu show performed by Shaolin monks. Experience the powerful and awe-inspiring techniques and experience the allure of Chinese kung fu. Founded in 495 AD, Shaolin Temple is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The temple was built by Emperor Xiaowen of the Northern Wei Dynasty (reigned 386-557) to entertain the Indian monk Batuo. Since Chinese kung fu also originated at Shaolin Temple, Shaolin Temple is also considered the birthplace of Zen Buddhism and kung fu. On this tour, you'll be accompanied by a knowledgeable guide who will provide a Q&A session and delve into Shaolin culture.
Shaolin Tallinn
After visiting Shaolin Temple, we'll explore Tallinn. Tallinn is home to the tombs of many famous monks and temple abbots. There are over 240 tombs of various sizes from the Tang, Song, Jin, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties (618-1911), making it the largest in China. Walking through these tombs, you can feel the history of various eras transcending time and space, and experience the profound history of Shaolin Temple.
At lunchtime, you can experience Buddhist culinary culture by joining the Shaolin monks for a simple vegetarian lunch, or dine at a regular restaurant (either option requires a local meal fee) and sample local cuisine.

At the end of the journey, you'll arrive at the most exciting part of your trip: a trip to the Shaolin Martial Arts Institute to learn kung fu from a kung fu master! (Please note: the kung fu lesson you will be participating in is a group lesson with other students, not a one-on-one private lesson.) At the Shaolin Martial Arts Institute, you'll learn classic kung fu moves under the guidance of a professional kung fu master. Language barriers won't be an issue here.
