How to buy first-class and second-class seats?
If you bring children (under 15 years old), it is more cost-effective to buy first-class seats!
Reasons: Children travel free, and first-class seats are more spacious, less crowded, and more comfortable. Also, first-class cabins on Lake Lucerne cruise are on the upper deck, less crowded, and offer a better experience!
First Class Seat:
1) First-class carriages offer greater comfort: wider seats, more legroom, and power outlets. First-class passengers also enjoy the convenience of quiet and business areas. First-class seating is also available on Swissotel cruise. First-class seats are typically located on the upper deck, offering a wider view and perfect for enjoying the surrounding scenery.
2) Depending on the train and route, some may also include meal services.
- Note that while most trains offer first-class seating, cogwheel trains and cable car, as well as urban transportation options like buses and trams, do not.

Second Class:
- Although relatively small, they still offer comfortable seats and ample legroom. Second-class fares are generally cheaper than first-class fares, but passengers can still enjoy a good travel experience.
***Please note that the exact configuration of first-class seats may vary depending on the type of train, carriage type, and operator. For more detailed information, we recommend that you refer to the official Swiss National Railways (SBB) website or contact your train operator.
