We had an absolute blast on the 1.5-hour Sydney Whale Whisperer cruise! Departing right from King Street Wharf 6 at Darling Harbour was super convenient and seamless to find. Andrew was wonderfully friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable; Having such a great conversation with him made the entire trip feel personal and relaxed. I was still very excited to see it from afar. During the migration, we can see it whenever the weather is good. The only problem is that going out to sea makes us very seasick; seasickness medication didn't work, and most people on the boat vomited. The consequence of continuing to film while seasick was that we continued to vomit after disembarking, until the next day.

I got seasick, but I enjoyed seeing whales several times! It was also great that they took us straight to Taronga Zoo! Taronga Zoo feels like it was built by leveling a mountain and expanding the area vertically (?), so climbing up and down the stairs was a great workout! Depending on the time of day and season, there may not be many animals to see, but I was lucky to see a mother and baby koala moving around!

The scenery from the pier to the whale watching area was also beautiful. We passed Darling Harbour, the Harbour Bridge, the Opera House, and the lighthouse along the way. We were lucky enough to see whales and dolphins that day, but not very close. We saw them more than 10 times during our hour-long stop. The crew initially explained the safety precautions very seriously, requiring us to listen attentively and not to use our phones. Later, when we were in the water, we were required to hold onto the handrails or the canopy while standing.

I was on the 1:30pm trip and I’m so glad I chose Whale Whisperer. You can really feel the captain and crew’s passion and genuine love for marine life. We were lucky enough to see whales breaching, but what I loved most was how the whole experience made me appreciate the beauty of the ocean. Truly unforgettable! 🐋
