York Minster is the largest Gothic church in England. Construction began in the early 13th century and was completed 250 years later. The church has the largest medieval stained glass in the world and the oldest side aisle in the world. There are also some small collections inside such as cherubs and shields from the feudal era. The York City Wall is a 5-kilometer-long square wall built by the Romans as a barrier to defend against foreign enemies. You can see these city walls as you enter the city from the train station.The city wall is centered on York Minster, and it takes about 2 hours to go around the city wall.York Shambles is the most complete and oldest medieval street preserved in Britain so far.There are buildings full of fairy tale colors here, and it is also the prototype of "Diagon Alley" where the little wizards in the "Harry Potter" series of movies buy various magic props and books.
