Driving Creek trainThis is a "mini" railway with a track width of only 38 centimeters and a total length of 6 miles. However, since the entire railway line is built on a steep slope of the mountain, with a drop of 105 meters, it is not an easy project. In the early years, a young potter from England came to New Zealand in his 20s to pursue his ideals and career and took root here. He bought a hilltop here because it contained the soil he used for pottery making. Since he became the owner of this land, he has built railways to transport soil from the mountains, and on the other hand has continued to plant trees, creating the trees and forests that now cover the mountains.An observation tower for tourists called "Eye Full Tower" was built near the top of the railway terminal. Passengers can get off the train and climb up to see far away. The driver and tour guide introduces the surrounding environment and scenery to the tourists as well as the story of the sculptor from the observation deck on the top of the mountain. Hahei and Church BayHahei is a charming beach lined with tall New Zealand Christmas trees and pink seashells floating on the northern end.The islands along the coast form natural breakwaters, so tourists can swim, boat and fish safely in the sea. The north-facing coastline and islands bordering the marine reserve make it a popular spot for diving and kayaking. Numerous coral reefs, caves, arches and soft sediments provide an ideal environment for a variety of plants, fish, molluscs and crustaceans.At the southern end of Hahei Beach lies the Te Pare historic reserve, which is the site of an ancient Maori fort (fortified village). Hike for an hour along the northernmost walking track of the beach to the top of the cliff, then descend to the stunning Cathedral Cove.A huge arched stone door connects the two secluded bays through the white rock headland. This arch gives the entire beach a majestic atmosphere. The beach is paved with soft sand and shaded from the sun by New Zealand Christmas trees, making it an ideal spot for picnicking and swimming. There is a huge pointed cone-shaped breccia on Cathedral Bay, called "Te Hoho" (Te Hoho). It has been carved by sea wind and waves for centuries. It looks like the bow of a large ship, facing forward. The beach approaches slowly.
