Gorgeous countryside viewing on the 2hr trip to the caves. Our guide and driver Matty was informative & friendly. The caves, whilst fascinating, was let down a little as you are not allowed to take any photos inside. You have the obligatory photo before entering the cave and they superimpose you onto images that you can purchase at the end of the tour. The glow worms and the cave system was interesting but I was expecting a lot more to be honest. I would rate the caves 7 out of 10.
A one hour drive across to Hobbiton and wow! This is the most professional and well-run tourist attraction. It is such a magical part of the world and during lambing season. It was just so gorgeous. The actual movie set itself is otherworldly and surreal and you feel you are on a different planet. I would rate this tour a 10 out of 10. our guide, James was amazing . I cannot fault this tour at all. Long day but very well organised. ★

Such a great trip! Grant (or Grant but in a kiwi accent) was a great tour guide. He was very knowledgeable and taught us a lot about the culture and history during the long van rides. Glowworm caves were cool but the highlight for me was definitely the geysers. The whole experience was great and am so grateful that they offer a trip like this including transport since Rotorua is quite a distance away.
Note: this experience did not include a Māori performance or haka. If I read the description better I wouldve known that but that is the only thing I was a little bummed about. The experience is great, but just note what is actually included if thats what you are looking for.★

This was an amazing tour, Adil was very friendly and gave excellent advice. Be sure to research the weather for Hobbiton as it is a fully outdoor tour. Be prepared for a long day! Totally worth it!★

The Chinese Hobbit explained that there were only 8:50 in the morning, so the driver came to pick us up at 5:55 in the morning. We set off very early. We took us to have breakfast on the road (McDonald's or others at our own expense). The service was very good. We met the beautiful scenery along the way. We would stop and let us take pictures. When we arrived at the attraction, we helped us pick up the tickets, and we patiently told us the precautions, a great experience!
