What an incredible experience! Our family of 7 booked the tour and were amazed at the punctuality and efficiency of everyone involved. From the tour agent to the drivers and the guides. All wonderful people and super kind and accommodating. The tour itself was fabulous and thorough. Our guide, Mahmood was extremely knowledgeable and helped gear the tour towards our interests. We were picked up from the hotel by a shuttle bus and taken to the airport. I was contacted in advance via WhatsApp to clarify any questions or concerns. In Cairo, we were met by our tour guide, and the tour began. I would like to expressly mention again how excellent and professional the service was, both from the agency via WhatsApp and from our tour guide. Our tour guide deserves all the stars in the world; he always paid attention to all his "habitis" in the group and also put in a lot of effort when it came to photography.
He led us through the tour with charm, insider knowledge, and heart, and in my opinion, he showed much more commitment than the "standard obligatory program."
Unfortunately, I can't remember his name; he told my son his name was "Expert" and he called our tour group "Adrian" (after my son's name).
Whoever gets him as their tour guide will have an experienced expert 😉 at their side.
I found the tour itself strenuous with a child. It was extremely hot (normal in August), and the many stops like the papyrus shop and the perfume shop added to the stress. On the other hand, there are plenty of extras on offer to help you learn more about the culture and, of course, to shop. The pyramids, the camel ride (€9 extra per person), and the Sphinx were breathtaking. The Egyptian Museum was also fantastic. Here, our expert again showed and explained some amazing things.
Afterwards, there was a Nile cruise, which you could book for an additional €10. The scenery here was also stunningly beautiful and made for a wonderful end to the day. We marveled at the professional photoshoot our tour guide managed with our phones.
Unfortunately, our flight home to Hurghada was delayed, but that wasn't the fault of the Booking Egypt team. They responded very well, and a driver was arranged for our return trip later.
I would also like to mention that our small tour group was extremely pleasant, it was very harmonious, and we met some great people.
``` The only criticism I had was the included lunch at the restaurant in Cairo. While the view during lunch was directly overlooking the Pyramids, unfortunately, hours later, I got an upset stomach, and shortly afterward, the so-called "Pharaoh's Curse" hit me in full force. It was a shame, because I lost the entire following day of my vacation due to illness, as I was lying sick in my hotel room all day.
However, neither our tour guide nor the tour operator can be blamed for this. I probably just had bad luck.
