Badaling Great Wall

The Badaling Great Wall is known as one of the nine fortresses in the world. Its scenery is majestic, steep, beautiful and verdant. It is the essence of the scenery of the Ming Great Wall. "If you haven't been to the Great Wall, you are not a true man." Many Chinese people choose this place as the main choice for climbing the Great Wall. The Badaling Great Wall Pass is a trapezoidal shape that is narrow in the east and wide in the west, with two gates in the east and west. The east gate is inscribed with "Juyongwai Town" and the west gate is inscribed with "North Gate Lock and Key". The Great Wall extending northward from the pass is the North Great Wall, which has 12 watchtowers. South of the pass is the South Great Wall, which has 7 watchtowers. The number of tourists at the South Great Wall is less than that at the North Great Wall. If you have enough time, you can go to the South Great Wall first and then the North Great Wall.

In addition to climbing the Great Wall at Guancheng, there are also entrances on the South 4th Floor, North 4th Floor, North 8th Floor, and North 11th Floor, all of which lead to climbing the Great Wall.

The 8th North Tower is the highest tower in the Badaling Great Wall, also known as the "Sun Viewing Tower". It is more than 1,500 meters away from the city wall and is a great place to overlook the Great Wall.

Take the ropeway

There are also ropeways at the 4th floor in the south and the 8th floor in the north. Visitors who do not want to walk can take the ropeway directly to the enemy tower and then take the ropeway back after the tour. This can save energy and make the tour easier.

Dingling

The world-famous Ming Tombs are located at the southern foot of Tianshou Mountain in Changping District, Beijing. From the May of the seventh year of Yongle (1409 AD) when the Changling was built, to the last emperor Chongzhen of the Ming Dynasty buried in Siling, during the 230 years, 13 magnificent imperial tombs, 7 concubines' tombs, and 1 eunuch's tomb were built here. A total of 13 emperors, 23 queens, 2 princes, more than 30 concubines, and 2 eunuchs were buried here. It is the most well-preserved tomb complex in the world with the most buried emperors. The Ming Tombs are magnificent in architecture, complete in system, and have a long history. They have high historical and cultural value.

Ming Dingling is the mausoleum of Emperor Wanli. The overall layout of the ground building is circular in front and square in back, which symbolizes the ancient Chinese philosophical concept of "the sky is round and the earth is square". Dingling was built before Emperor Wanli was alive. It started in the 12th year of Wanli (1584 AD) and took 6 years to complete, costing 8 million taels of silver. The emperor was only 28 years old when the mausoleum was built. It was not officially opened until 1620, and the mausoleum was idle for 30 years. Dingling became one of the three mausoleums in the Thirteen Tombs.
