I'm a European exchange student living in Germany. Knowing that I could conveniently travel to other countries by train, I purchased a Eurail Pass. At the time, there was a promotional discount of about 20%, so I got it for about €100 less. I was very satisfied with the price. I could choose to use 15 days within two months, which was incredibly convenient. I highly recommend it.

The guide was a man in his 50s with a slightly peculiar sense of humor, perhaps typical of Italians. He knew a lot. It was more like a lecture from a university professor; children and those looking for light information weren't interested. I speak English fluently, but some of the terms were beyond me. I bought a ticket for 11:30 AM; they sent me a WhatsApp message to arrive early, at 10:45 AM, and they told me the meeting place. It was difficult to find; I had to take the metro and go up to the second floor. It was nerve-wracking because there were a lot of groups nearby. The tour started at the Colosseum. We didn't have to wait in line for the Colosseum, but after that there was a tour of the Forum, where we stood with everyone else at the general ticket office for about 25 minutes. We didn't have time to walk around the Colosseum, but without the information from the guide, I wouldn't have understood anything. When the tour ended at the Forum, we were able to stay and walk around there. The tour lasted 2.5 hours. The equipment for hearing the guide works well.

We took this tour on arrival day, which was a great start to our trip! Lucrezia (sp?) was very informative and friendly. The time was perfect (3:00-7:00 pm) for a late lunch/early dinner. The food was very good and covered all courses.

We had a great time. Walter was an amazing guide. My daughter and I were part of a 6 person tour. We started with wine and a pork appetizer and went on to many other places to have cheeses, meats, pork and pastas. All delicious and accompanied by wines and a spritz. We were all full by the time we got to gelato but managed to eat some of that also. Along the way we enjoyed learning about the region and the food from Walter. We had a really fun group with lots of conversations and laughter. A great way to start our trip!
