Maijishan Grottoes (5A level) - one of the four major grottoes in China, known as the Oriental Sculpture Museum; Maijishan Grottoes is a world cultural heritage and one of the four major grottoes in China. It is named after its shape resembling a stack of wheat. There are countless artistic masterpieces left in the grottoes dating back more than 1,600 years. The Maijishan Grottoes are carved into a vertical cliff face 20-80 meters high and 200 meters wide. There are 194 grottoes, including 54 caves on the east cliff and 140 caves on the west cliff. There are more than 7,800 clay sculptures, stone clay sculptures, and stone sculptures. The East Cliff Buddha is 15.8 meters high and the murals are more than 1,000 square meters. Maijishan Grottoes is one of the four major grottoes in China and is known as the "Oriental Sculpture Museum". The other three grottoes are: Longmen Grottoes, Yungang Grottoes and Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes.
