The Blue Lagoon is a wonder of Iceland, ranked by National Geographic as one of the world's 25 greatest wonders, celebrated for its unique geothermal seawater. Rich in silica, algae, and minerals—these very elements give the Blue Lagoon its skin-nourishing properties. With its sauna, steam rooms, steam caves, mask bar, massage waterfall, and in-water drink bar, the Blue Lagoon offers a uniquely unforgettable experience.

*Blue Lagoon is only 20 min from Keflavik Airport and 50 min from Reykjavik city center. From either starting point, simply follow Reykjanesbraut (Highway 41) to Grindavíkurvegur (Highway 43) and then follow the signs to Blue Lagoon.
*Official transportation partner, providing round-trip bus service from Keflavik and Reykjavik.
*Blue Lagoon buses depart from the Blue Lagoon once every hour. If you haven't booked your ticket yet, you can purchase it from the bus driver.
*There is no direct bus from the airport to the Blue Lagoon, but the bus terminal (with departure time slots to the Blue Lagoon every hour) is only 1 km from Reykjavik Airport.
*Blue Lagoon admission ticket prices vary over time.
*The minimum age requirement for entry to the Blue Lagoon is two years old. Children aged 2–13 can enter for free when accompanied by a parent or guardian. This includes a towel, a silica mud mask, and sharing with a parent/guardian. However, it does not include a personal locker, the first complimentary drink, or a bathrobe. Children aged 8 and under must wear armbands. Armbands are available for free at the Blue Lagoon entrance. Due to the water depth of 1.4 meters/4.7 feet, all children visiting the Blue Lagoon must be supervised by a parent or guardian. One adult can accompany a maximum of two children.
The Blue Lagoon reaches a maximum depth of 1.4m/4.7ft, though most areas are shallower. However, the lagoon's bottom is naturally uneven, so caution is advised. At the entrance, you'll find an overview map displaying depth and temperature information.
*All admission tickets have a one-hour flexible entry window. For example, a 13:00 admission ticket means you can arrive between 13:00 and 14:00. However, entry is not guaranteed if you arrive outside of your ticketed time, so it is recommended to arrive on time.
*The e-ticket can only be used once. The admission ticket is only valid on the selected date and time. If you do not arrive on the booked date and time, Blue Lagoon cannot guarantee availability.
*You don't need to print your e-ticket; you can show it on your mobile device.
Both admission tickets (Comfort and Premium) include towel usage. However, the Premium ticket also includes a bathrobe. If you have a Comfort ticket and would like a bathrobe, you can rent one for ISK 1,500 each. Please note that Blue Lagoon shower gel and conditioner are provided free of charge to all guests and can be found in the shower facilities. The drying area also features Blue Lagoon moisturizer.
*Swimwear is required in all areas of the Blue Lagoon and its surroundings, including the sauna. You may bring your own swimwear or rent it from the front desk. Towels and bathrobes are also available for rent. All bathrobes come in various sizes ranging from S to XL.
*You don't need to know how to swim to visit the Blue Lagoon. The water is shallow in many areas, and at the edge of the lagoon, the water is less than 0.8 meters/2.6 feet deep, which is perfect for resting and relaxing. The water gets deeper as you go further in. Children aged 2–8 must wear the swimming floats we provide. Adults can also request swimming floats. For your safety, lifeguards are on duty.
*The admission ticket is valid for the full-day. However, for your safety and health, the typical recommended time in the water is two hours. The average stay at the Blue Lagoon is four hours.
The Blue Lagoon's water temperature ranges between 37°–40°C (98°–104°F). Pregnant women can bathe in the Blue Lagoon, but it's important for each individual to assess their physical condition before entering.
*The electronic wristband you receive upon arrival. It has two main functions: it serves as the key to your personal locker and as a payment tool for purchasing refreshments. A fee of 5,000 ISK will be charged if you lose the wristband.
*Swimsuits are available for rent for ISK 800, and bathrobes for ISK 1,500, if needed. Blue Lagoon does not offer swimming caps for rent, but they are available for purchase at the Blue Lagoon store.
*We recommend removing all jewelry (rings, necklaces, bracelets, etc.) before entering the lagoon. This will prevent loss or damage to your items from the geothermal seawater, which contains high levels of silica, algae, and minerals.
Iceland's weather is highly unpredictable, especially in winter. However, it's extremely rare for the Blue Lagoon to close due to weather conditions - only three closures have occurred in the past decade. Even when closures do happen, they're not caused by rain, snow, sleet, hail, or subzero temperatures, but rather by sustained hurricane-force winds.
