Itinerary Information
*The following itinerary is for reference only and is subject to the actual arrangements by the guide on the day. The itinerary may change due to weather, road conditions, or special circumstances.
Leave the bustling Manchester and head straight to the beautiful and tranquil Lake District.
The first stop of the day is Bowness on the shores of Windermere. You'll have time to leisurely stroll along the lakeside admiring the magnificent scenery, or explore the charming specialty shops throughout the town.
Departing from Bowness, head south towards Coniston Water in Windermere. Before reaching the picturesque town of Hawkshead, you can enjoy the beautiful views of this water body. It was here that the poet William Wordsworth attended grammar school.
After exploring the village, you'll head north along narrow country lanes to the town of Grasmere, described by Wordsworth as "the loveliest spot that man hath ever found." Visit Wordsworth's Dove Cottage, sample the legendary gingerbread, or enjoy the tranquility of the Wordsworth Daffodil Garden by the River Rothay. Traveling along country roads to the southern coast and then from the Lake District towards Lancaster, we can admire the breathtaking views of Ullswater Lake.
After the trip ends, return to Manchester.
