Since I had come all the way there, I decided to go up to the rooftop terrace. As you'd expect from Milan's biggest tourist spot, there were a lot of tourists. There were many areas under construction, but the view was great. When I came down from the rooftop terrace, I was suddenly engulfed in the solemn atmosphere of the interior. I'm not a Christian, but the atmosphere of the mass was so pleasant that I spent nearly an hour listening to it.★

Despite overcoming some obstacles, including a late opening of the Duomo and a protest outside La scala, our guide did a fabulous job of explaining the history of La Scala, the tour of the museum and the Duomo. She arranged for us to be able to visit the the Opera House later that day or on Sunday. Highly recommend our guide.
