I bought a Shinkansen ticket to go from Tainan to Taipei. I chose the time, but when I showed my voucher to exchange it for the ticket at Tainan Station, the receptionist asked me if I wanted an earlier Shinkansen ticket, and arranged for me to take a Shinkansen ticket two stops earlier. This is great because I can just reserve the time and then change it.

I reserved it after arriving at Taoyuan Airport and received it immediately. The amount I had already charged plus the round-trip airport tokens was enough for all my transportation expenses during my 2-night, 3-day stay, but it's easy to top up if you need to. The ticket vending machines at the station have Japanese language options, so you can top up just like a Japanese transportation IC card. I was able to use the remaining amount to do some shopping at the airport. I recommend it.

The young lady provided excellent service and was very helpful in resolving my issues. However, I suggest that Ctrip provide a map; I searched for a long time and asked several people before finally finding the location.


