I personally think it's very convenient. Planning your travel time and attractions in advance can save you a lot of money. If you can travel as a special forces soldier, buying a day pass can save you a lot.

Reviews: City Sightseeing London Hop-On Hop-Off Bus Tour & Bookable Extras

I bought a 1 day ticket which included and single ride River Cruise. If you want to see the popular sites make sure you get on the red route. I made the mistake of getting on the blue route which takes you to the outskirts and wasted to much time. And once your on the blue route and takes forever to finally connect to the red route. RED ROUTE is Big Ben, Westminister Abbey, Parliament, The Eye, London Bridge, Tower of London etc. BLUE ROUTE is Kensington Palace, Hyde Park, Madame Tousse, etc. They did have plenty of buses going around however traffic is bad in London.
Reviews: London: City Lights Bus Tour by Night

The meeting point was difficult to find. As a result, we arrived late, but luckily we were able to join the tour an hour later. The correct meeting point is at the Ritz Hotel, about 5-10 minutes away from the posted location. The tour itself was good. Our guide told us a lot of interesting information about London, some of which was new to us.
