David was an excellent guide! He explained every place so thoroughly, covering not only the scenery but also the local culture, history, and interesting stories behind each location. You can really feel how much he loves and appreciates this place, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. He was also very polite, patient, punctual, and responsible throughout the trip. I genuinely had such a great time and learned so much along the way. The trip was not only fun but also packed with interesting knowledge. Highly recommend David if you want to truly understand and experience the place rather than just visit the sights!

It was a fantastic day! The train ride was great, the wildlife park animals were adorable and we could get up close and personal, and the coastline at Cape Nobbes was absolutely stunning! A special shout-out to our driver/guide, John Huang! This Taiwanese guy was very entertaining, enthusiastic, and attentive throughout the trip. He helped with taking photos and videos, and his humorous and engaging style made our Melbourne trip incredibly enjoyable! I highly recommend him!
Reviews: [September Promotion] Melbourne Great Ocean Road Trail + Twelve Apostles Day Trip

If you have the time, driving yourself is more comfortable, but if you only have one day, a bus tour is sufficient. The driver is nice and will explain the history of the road in detail. However, a day tour really just involves visiting the most scenic spots of the Great Ocean Road, and stopping if you encounter wild koalas or kangaroos along the way. The prices at the restaurants along the road are reasonable. The scenery along this road is truly stunning when the weather is good.
Reviews: Affordable and relaxing - 1-day tour to Puffing Billy Railway and Yarra Valley & Dandenongs Ranges winery in Melbourne

In an unfamiliar country, with the driver's seat reversed, joining a tour group is the most convenient and reassuring option. The scenic train, zoo, and Phillip Island route are the standard, popular choices, but having already been to Phillip Island, finding this winery + train route was quite difficult. I anticipated it wouldn't offer many surprises, but I was extremely satisfied. John Huang, our best guide—humorous, witty, and considerate—even gave us a little surprise at the end, making it a perfect trip! Highly recommended!
Reviews: CNY 1 upgrade to Great Ocean Road] Melbourne Puffing Billy Railway + Phillip Island 1-day tour

On my last day in Australia, I joined a day tour. The tour guide was very nice and responsible, explaining many local facts along the way. We rode the Puffing Billy steam train. You can sit on the window frame and stick your feet out the window. The scenery of forests and farms along the way was beautiful, and passersby would stop to wave and say hello. Those black dots on the hillside are Angus cattle, the Angus from Angus Burger! [laughing through tears] We fed kangaroos, and they felt so good to pet! The baby koalas were so cute, they were practically swimming! [crying emoji] In the evening, we went to Phillip Island to watch the little blue penguins return to their nests. We could see the penguins waddling back to the beach from the sea, and we could even hear their calls. Because bright light affects the penguins' journey home, the park was very dark, and it was fun searching for penguins together in the dark. There was no light pollution, and we could also see the Milky Way! (Because photography wasn't allowed on site, picture 9 is an official photo provided by the park.)
Reviews: Great Ocean Road Classic Sunset Day-Tour [English & Chinese speaking driver/guide & popular spots & air-conditioned bus] in Melbourne

I'd like to commend both the driver and guide, Tony. I had trouble finding the bus, and Tony waited for me for about 10 minutes, even though he could have left five minutes after the scheduled time. His driving skills are also noteworthy. He's also an excellent guide. Our trip was very comfortable and fun. I would have liked longer stops, particularly at the apostles' church, but you need to keep track of the time as the roundtrip is long. The Scania bus is quite comfortable. I'd also like to point out the price for this tour on trip.com; it was super-affordable compared to what local Australian tour operators or booking aggregators offered. Overall, I highly recommend it!
