A wonderful activity. First, they'll contact you separately to process your trekking permit, which isn't included and seems expensive until you go and realize the immense work and logistics involved (trust the agency). This was difficult for me because I'm Mexican. Bring appropriate clothing: long pants, something warm and waterproof, and hiking boots, as well as water, food, and money for tips. Once you're there, you'll realize how much you appreciate the work of these people. The agency was incredibly kind and efficient. Thank you for a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Hiking Mount Kigali was an incredibly enriching and memorable experience. The hike itself was enjoyable with beautiful views, but what truly made it special was meeting the local community along the way and learning about their daily lives and livelihoods. The amazing guide, Malik, made the experience even better with his knowledge, warmth, and genuine connection to the community. He helped me understand a different side of Rwandan culture in a way that felt personal and authentic. While city tours are absolutely wonderful, this experience was unique and easily one of the highlights of my trip.
