We actually did this tour on January 1st, 2026, at 6:00 AM and didn't regret a single second of the lost sleep. Perhaps we were especially lucky. We entered the locks behind a car carrier, and a cruise ship was being locked through next to us. It was fantastic and an experience that's hard to beat if you have even a passing interest in technical matters. Everything was explained in a pleasant and calm manner. The food on board was great – although I was so excited that I hardly had time to eat it. I can highly recommend this tour; I would do it again in a heartbeat.★

We had an amazing tour with Daniel, he was incredibly accommodating, friendly, knowledgeable, and spoke perfect English. It was great to experience the canal and Casco Viejo with a local. He also accommodated a request for a diversion to a specialty coffee shop that we had mentioned, which was very much appreciated. 10/10 great day!★

Richard was an outstanding guide and extremely knowledgeable about Panama and the Embera people. He entertained us with his insight and endless well of facts about Noriega, the relationship between Panama and the United States, etc. I would def recommend! Oh, and def wear water shoes not flip flops maybe even tennis shoes you can get wet. The climbing around the waterfall is not flip flop safe and barefoot is not comfortable, and bring water and a hat.
