Summer Palace
The Summer Palace, originally an imperial retreat and garden for Qing Dynasty emperors also known as the Garden of Clear Ripples, was built around Kunming Lake and Longevity Hill following the design principles of Jiangnan-style gardens. As one of China's largest and most well-preserved royal gardens, it boasts exceptionally elegant scenery and houses numerous precious cultural relics, earning its reputation as the "Museum of Royal Gardens."

Park overview: The Summer Palace is vast in scale and can be divided into three main areas: the political activity zone centered around the Hall of Benevolence and Longevity; the imperial living quarters primarily consisting of the Hall of Jade Ripples and the Hall of Joyful Longevity; and the scenic garden area featuring the Long Corridor, Back Hill, and Western Section. Approximately three-quarters of the entire park is occupied by Kunming Lake, with over 100 structures and 3,000 rooms along its shores, including pavilions, terraces, towers, and bridges. Iconic landmarks such as the Tower of Buddhist Incense, Long Corridor, Marble Boat, Suzhou Street, and Seventeen-Arch Bridge are must-see attractions when visiting the Summer Palace.

The attraction features 8 boat docks: Bafang Pavilion, Wenchang Pavilion, Yulan Hall, Paiyun Hall, Shizhang Pavilion, Bronze Ox, Marble Boat, and South Lake Island, with 5 types of boats available: pedal boats, rowboats, electric boats, dragon boats, and large painted pleasure boats.
