


▲ Nanjing Presidential Palace - Historical evolution: Originally built in the early Ming Dynasty, it served as the residence of Prince Zhu Gaoxu. During the Qing Dynasty's Kangxi era, it became the Liangjiang Viceroy's Office. During the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom period, Hong Xiuquan constructed the Heavenly King's Palace here, later rebuilt by Zeng Guofan as the Liangjiang Viceroy's Office. During the Republic of China era, it functioned as the Presidential Palace and National Government offices. On April 23, 1949, Nanjing was liberated when the People's Liberation Army occupied the Presidential Palace.
