Xiata Gorge, also known as Tang Monk Ancient Road, is a relatively dangerous passage on the Silk Road.
It crosses the Muzart Pass on the main ridge of the Tianshan Mountains. More than 30 kilometers away from the gorge is the Xiata Hot Spring, where the water temperature is between 42 and 64 degrees Celsius and has a good health-care effect.
Other highlights include the grassland stone men, the large-scale Wusun ancient tombs and the ruins of the Xiata ancient city.
