Paul met us right on time in the main square, gave us a brief history lesson of Portugal and the Iberian Peninsula and then proceeded to guide us through all of the important sites in Evora (and there are many). Of course we saw the Roman ruins and the amazing Chapel of Bones, but only with a guide like Paul would you stop and see ancient game “boards” etched into the stone, hidden gems in the Cloister, and where to buy the best wine and sardines. His interesting and “fun facts” along the way made it well worth having a private guide. Plus we had “skip the line” admittance to everything, which is worth a lot if visiting in August! Thank you Paul for a great morning!

Évora is a beautiful city rich in history and culture but we would have missed all of it without our guide, João. He really made the city come alive and did an amazing job at tailoring the tour to our interests. I would highly recommend this tour and if you are lucky enough to get João please tell him we said óla!

Our guide, Rafael, was incredible. We essentially had a private tour, where he was attentive, careful, and explained everything very well. The wine tasting was incredible, with wonderful locations, and Monsaraz was the most unexpectedly pleasant stop. Congratulations to Rafael from all of us. -Maria, Vania, and Eliane.


