Climb aboard your luxury sightseeing coach and begin your journey, taking in the stunning views of the mountains and clear blue lakes. Along the way, your driver will explain this unique region to you. Pass by the man-made Lake Dunstan outside Cromwell, the beautiful Lake Wanaka and its neighbouring Lake Hawea, and enjoy morning tea in Makarora, a small settlement at the foot of Mount Prawnton where the Otago and West Coast regions meet.
Entering Mount Asper National Park, we follow the historic Māori route through the Southern Alps in search of pounamu (greenstone) and cross Haast Pass, the southernmost pass between the east and west coasts, enjoying views of native beech forests, waterfalls and glacial rivers.
Once we reach the West Coast, we enter a landscape that inspires awe and awe with vast rainforests, clear waterfalls and rugged ridges.
