I made the reservation after arriving in Siem Reap (the day before). After booking, our guide, Sarak, confirmed the pickup location, time, and advance ticket purchase details via WhatsApp, so I was able to arrive at the destination with peace of mind. On the day, I arrived with plenty of time to spare. After watching the sunrise, I was given detailed explanations of the history of the area as we toured the various sites, and I think he was a great guide. I'm very pleased with my choice of booking to visit the Tonle Sap lake and floating village.
Born in the village, Sarin was an outstanding guide. Humble and considerate, also with excellent English language. I enjoyed chatting about many aspects of life in Cambodia and of course the floating village which he understands so well.
I was lucky to visit just after the end of rainy season, so the water was high and we took a boat to reach the village.
Many beautiful photo opportunities.
Sarin also introduced me to a variety of tasty local snacks. Bamboo sticky rice was my favourite.
I believe (for me) a better option than joining a large group. Yes, a bit more expensive but in my opinion worth it for probably once a lifetime visit.
