Details: Piazza dei Cavalieri was the heart of political life in Pisa. The second most famous team after Piazza dei Miracoli. Today it's the seat of the prestigious Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa for higher education. It is also the location of the tower where Count Ugolino della Gherardesca met his demise in 1289, later famously featured in Canto 33 of Dante's Inferno.
