I applied for fast-track because I heard the airport arrival line was incredibly long, and it was a godsend. While the regular line usually lasted 40-50 minutes, I waited in less than 10. An employee even escorted me to the immigration counter, so it wasn't too crowded. I highly recommend this to anyone visiting Ho Chi Minh City for the first time.★

There is a staff member holding a sign just before the immigration checkpoint, and if you talk to him you will be let through to priority immigration. I was able to complete immigration in about 5 minutes. After getting off the plane, it took less than 30 minutes in total to reach the exit. It costs money, but considering the hassle of entering the country, I think it's worth it.★

I booked a VIP tour this time, and the itinerary was very packed, with five or six boat trips in total, making it a fairly in-depth tour.
The Mekong River didn't look very clear; the water was quite yellow and covered with water hyacinths, but there was no unpleasant odor.
The island had many plants (various fruits) and animals (pythons, crocodiles, catfish, etc.), and the guide led the tour, providing very enthusiastic explanations. At the narrow section of the river where boats were manually rowed, the guide mentioned that a tip was expected for the rowers. Before the tour ended, the guide suggested that if we were satisfied with the trip, we could also tip him; I felt I had to give him something, otherwise I'd feel awkward.★

We had a great day on this tour. We were picked up in Ho Chi Minh City and went by bus to see the Cu Chi tunnels from the Vietnam War. It was very interesting and informative, and the guide explained a lot. Walking inside the tunnels was amazing - very narrow and unforgettable.
After that we had lunch, and it was a big surprise: a lot of food and everything was very tasty. Then we went to the Mekong River and had a nice boat ride, which was really fun. We also saw how coconut candies are made and visited a small honey farm.
Our guide Luis was excellent. He was very friendly, helpful, answered all our questions, and clearly cared about making the tour enjoyable. We really appreciated his effort. Highly recommended!★
