There was a lot of scaffolding. The bell tower was completely covered on the top floor, and we didn't know it. It's very difficult to understand the different names and access points for the monuments in question. We thought we would have access to the dome, but that wasn't the case because we hadn't properly understood the description of the excursion. Clearly, many tourists also misunderstood.

Our tour guide, Eleonora, was simply fantastic: knowledgeable, clear in her explanations, and able to share the city's history, art, and curiosities in an engaging and never boring way. It was an excellent day in Florence. Giovanni was our guide, although he was little quick on his feet. He had interesting things to show us and made sure we knew where we would go when we were done with the Tour portion because we had six hours free to do whatever we wanted which was fantastic. I got to see everything I wanted and even had a fantastic lunch at Il Borro on the Arno. The train ride was very pleasant and I met amazing people from all over the United States who were also doing bucket list trips. I felt safe, comfortable and appreciated as a person versus being treated like an annoying tourist.
