Reviews: Waterfall, Lagoon and Old Village in Peneda-Gerês National Park
Guest User2025-10-19
We had the best day ever. Cata took us to all these really special places that we would’ve never seen on our own. We got to experience nature in a way that we couldn’t have done without her. It was spectacular! Plenty of bathroom and coffee/snack breaks, so we were comfortable. And we went to the Wolf Village and had an amazing farm to table Portuguese lunch and learned all about the history. She taught us so much about the park and the trees and really took good care of us. It was a very special day and I would highly recommend it. Just make sure you’re somewhat physically fit person. To get to all those special places and crystal clear swimming lagoons you have to do a bit of bouldering. But we had a blast doing it and it was fine and Cata helped us the whole way. Just do it! 😁
Reviews: Private Geres National Park Tour with Lunch and Transfers

Book your tour! You absolutely will not regret it. We had an amazing time with Carlos touring Parque Nacional Peneda-Gerês despite a rainy /foggy start. Zero stress, just incredible hiking and views. Carlos made sure we hit the highlights of the park…with some extras. If we would have attempted this ourselves it would have been a flop - you need a guide who knows which trails and how far and how to avoid the crowds. Carlos was knowledgeable and made sure we were comfortable for the entire trip. We will come back and explore again using this company (hopefully with Carlos)!

This visit is a must for those who want to experience the park in a deeper way. Nelson is an amazing guide and knows the park very well. The communication with him has been flawless even before starting the tour. The tour is perfectly balanced between walking/driving and bathing at the waterfalls. The lunch offered was delicious. If I'll have the chance to visit the park again, I'll definitely contact Nelson to have another tour together.
Reviews: From Porto: Hike & Swim in Gerês National Park

Please leave a review. Thursday, September 25, 2025, Departing from Porto: Hiking & Swimming in Geres National Park [Title] Enjoy Northern Portugal, with more than just the historic district, slopes, and bifanas! [Content] Under the autumn-like blue sky, we hiked along a well-maintained mountain path for 1 hour and 15 minutes (4.8 km), admiring the majestic greenery and boulders. We arrived at a heavenly mountain lagoon. Surrounded by the crystal-clear blue lagoon, we ate our brought-in sandwiches while listening to the babbling brook and birdsong, and spent the rest of the day relaxing (about 1.5 hours). Completely refreshed, we returned home the same way we came, relaxing. Located in the northernmost part of Portugal, Peneda-Geres National Park (Parco Nacional Peneda-Geres) is a mountainous region straddling the Spanish border. It's about 100 km from Porto (about 2 hours one way), and there's no public transportation, making it difficult to get there on your own. So, joining this tour was a great decision. The guide, who knows the area inside and out, will provide you with the necessary information and precautions, but don't worry, unlike guides on other large bus tours, he will never crack jokes (which I can't understand as I'm not very good at English).
