Reviews: Snorkeling Trip To Angel Rock

The experience is worthwhile; you see many types of fish and coral, and it's a very good alternative if you don't want to pay to go to Pigeon Island.

Reviews: Nilaveli: Sri Lankan Home Cooking Class visit market
Guest User2026-08-29
A lovely morning and a real highlight of our honeymoon in Sri Lanka. Muna and Imzam started by taking us to a smallholding behind the market, where we watched aubergines being picked, before going on to the village shop to buy the rest of the ingredients. It was a genuine glimpse of Nilaveli beyond the beach and worth the trip on its own. Back at the kitchen, Muna talked us through a full Sri Lankan meal: dhal, chicken curry, drumstick and vegetable curries, coconut sambol and roti, all cooked in traditional clay pots. It is more of a demonstration than a step-by-step class, so go expecting to watch and learn rather than to cook everything yourself, though she is very happy for you to get involved. The meal at the end was excellent and far more than two people could finish. We sat down to four clay pots of curry and left very full. For the price, it is great value and a genuinely local experience with a kind and welcoming family. Thank you both.
