Things to do in Yuyao

It rained yesterday, but the rain stopped and the sky cleared today. The entire way there was a trail along the stream, and the return trip was by shuttle bus, so it wasn't too tiring. If you're physically fit, you can walk the whole way, but with stops, it will take 3-4 hours. Walking the trail along the stream will definitely involve getting your feet wet at one point, so I recommend water shoes. We didn't bring any, so we had to take off our shoes and wade through the water. Kids can play in the water, but aside from the mosquitoes, there are basically no downsides. If you're not physically fit, I don't recommend the trail; instead, take the paved road used by the shuttle bus. The shuttle bus only connects part of the route, and you still have to walk half of it. The scenery will be even more beautiful in autumn when the maple leaves turn red.

It's quite far from the main urban area, and you have to take a taxi both ways. Taxis are convenient and cheap, and the archaeological park is definitely worth a visit to learn about the production and living conditions of our ancestors 7,000 years ago.

Siming Mountain boasts beautiful scenery, pleasant landscapes, and abundant oxygen-rich air, making it a great place to relax, relieve stress, and connect deeply with nature.

Although my trip to Yuyao was rushed, I still managed to steal a moment in the afternoon to visit Wang Yangming's former residence in the old town area. Located in the heart of Yuyao, the residence is free – a big thumbs up! For small groups, a guided tour is recommended. The residence is small yet fully functional, especially with a café in one corner of the courtyard. Wang Yangming (1472-1529), originally named Yun, later changed to Shouren, courtesy name Bo'an, commonly known as Master Yangming, was a native of Yuyao, Zhejiang Province. He was a renowned philosopher, educator, and military strategist in ancient my country, holding the official position of Minister of War in Nanjing, and was posthumously honored as Earl of Xinjian. Despite a life filled with hardship and adversity, he upheld virtue and righteousness, possessing both literary and military talents, achieving remarkable success. His unique "School of Mind" system, in particular, broke through the barriers of Cheng-Zhu Neo-Confucianism at the time, occupying an important position and exerting a profound influence after the Ming Dynasty. His disciples are found throughout the country, and his scholarship continues to this day, making him a giant in the academic world and a "teacher for a hundred generations." Wang Shizhen, a renowned scholar of the Qing Dynasty, praised Wang Yangming, saying that he was "at the pinnacle in establishing virtue, merit, and words," and called him "a first-rate figure of the Ming Dynasty." Therefore, it is worth visiting if you have the time.

Yangming Ancient Town is still very unique, with historical sites, delicious food, and a festive atmosphere. Langxia soy milk is very unique. It is the first time I have eaten salty soy milk with beef or mutton cubes. It feels a bit like tofu pudding and a bit like egg custard. It's a pity that it is closed on Mondays and some venues cannot be visited.

Siming Lake, located in Liangnong Town, southern Yuyao City, Zhejiang Province, is surrounded by the Siming Mountains. It boasts beautiful scenery, clear water, and is home to rare birds. Several charming islands dot the lake, and the shores are dotted with mangroves and wetlands, creating a superior natural ecological environment. Egrets and other birds frequently visit the area. The area around the lake also features leisure and vacation facilities, farmhouses, and lakeside walking trails, making it a great place for leisure, dining, entertainment, and hiking. Recommended attractions: Siming Lake Mangrove Forest, Siming Lake Wetland (intersection of Siming Road and Zhenbei Road, Liangnong Town), Huanshui Bridge (within the Siming Lake Kaiyuan Mingdu Resort Hotel) Recommended dining: Siming Local Cuisine Restaurant (local specialties) located within the Yuyao Siming Lake Kaiyuan Mingdu Resort Hotel, and Lakeside Yue Café (lake-view coffee).

The ancient village of Shilin is very beautiful in late autumn. The bright red persimmons hang on the trees like small lanterns, which the locals call "Diaohong". There are also ancient wells and stone houses. The village also has a Danshan Chishui scenic spot, with beautiful mountains and clear waters and fresh air. It is a summer resort.

The location of the B&B is very convenient. The road opposite is the road that leads directly to the Danshan Chishui Scenic Area. The B&B is newly decorated and clean. The proprietress is very kind and even prepared breakfast for us for free.

Tianyi Pavilion Museum is a large private library. The library features enormous bookshelves, and the brick carvings and inscriptions within the grounds are also worth admiring. The grounds themselves resemble a traditional Jiangnan garden, with pavilions, terraces, rockeries, and fishponds. It's senior-friendly, with half-price tickets for those 60-69 and free admission for those 70 and above. The museum is conveniently located in downtown Ningbo.

Stepping into Tianyi Pavilion, the strongest impression isn't of a bustling, trendy tourist spot, but rather a quiet, profound atmosphere, imbued with the tranquility of a scholarly atmosphere. The guided tour was incredibly vivid and detailed; a guided explanation is essential to understanding the historical and cultural origins of this type of museum.
