Itinerary
Chiang Rai Cultural Day Tour from Chiang Mai

Begin your adventure with a pickup from your hotel or designated meeting point in Chiang Mai, then enjoy a scenic drive to Chiang Rai—a province renowned for its rich culture and breathtaking temples.

Your first stop is Mae Kachan Hot Spring, a popular roadside rest area where you can take a short break, stretch your legs, and observe the natural hot springs. While swimming is not allowed, it's a pleasant place to relax and enjoy the steam rising from the mineral-rich waters.

Continue to the Long Neck Karen Village, where you'll learn about the unique lifestyle and traditions of the Karen people, particularly the women who wear distinctive brass neck rings—an age-old cultural practice passed down through generations.

Arriving in Chiang Rai city, visit the world-famous White Temple (Wat Rong Khun)—a dazzling white structure decorated with glass mosaics that shimmer in the sunlight. Designed to symbolize purity and spiritual awakening, it stands as one of Thailand's most iconic architectural works.

After your visit, enjoy a Thai buffet lunch at a local restaurant, offering a variety of delicious northern Thai dishes.

Next, explore the vivid Blue Temple (Wat Rong Suea Ten), named after the “Dancing Tiger.” Admire its rich sapphire interior, guardian Naga statues, and intricate Lanna-style design.

Continue on to the Black House Museum (Baan Dam)—a thought-provoking art complex of more than 40 dark-wood buildings set in tranquil gardens. The museum blends traditional and modern art with a surreal atmosphere, featuring everything from sculptures to tribal artifacts and animal remains.

From Chiang Rai city, drive to the historic Golden Triangle, where the borders of Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar converge. Take a scenic boat ride along the Mekong River, with stunning views and fascinating insight into this once-notorious opium trade region.

After a full day of cultural discovery, relax on the return drive to Chiang Mai. You'll arrive back at your hotel around 9:30–10:00 PM.
