Andechs Abbey: Discover the medical history of the monastery

A fascinating gateway to the past opens up within the historic walls of the former monastery pharmacy. With lovingly reconstructed details, a late 18th-century pharmacy comes to life here. Right at the start, visitors enter the first room of the pharmacy: a place where the reception and the end of the tour coincide. Here, the journey begins with a brief overview and access to the audio guide – your personal time travel companion on your own smartphone. It guides guests through the experience rooms in an individual way. The voice of Heinrich Breitenacher, the last monk pharmacist of the Holy Mountain over 200 years ago, accompanies you. With him by your side, the tour becomes a gripping encounter with history – so close it feels like you're part of the past.
