Itinerary
●Chion-ji Temple | Miyazu City, Kyoto – Amanohashidate
Chion-ji Temple is a historic Buddhist temple located at the southern entrance of Amanohashidate, one of Japan's Three Scenic Views, in Miyazu City, Kyoto Prefecture. The temple is dedicated to Monju Bosatsu (Manjushri), the Bodhisattva of Wisdom, and is known as one of the Three Great Monju Temples in Japan. It's especially revered for granting wisdom, as reflected in the Japanese saying, “Three heads are better than one — even better if one is Monju.”
Within the peaceful temple grounds, you'll find a majestic main gate, the main hall, and a graceful multi-storied pagoda, offering a tranquil atmosphere perfect for reflection. Chion-ji is a popular destination for students and others praying for academic success and wisdom.
In front of the temple stands the famous Kaisen-kyo (rotating bridge), which turns 90 degrees to allow boats to pass — a unique sight often enjoyed by visitors exploring the area.

●Amanohashidate
Amanohashidate, located in Miyazu City in northern Kyoto Prefecture, is one of Japan's Three Scenic Views. This 3.6-kilometer sandbar, lined with around 8,000 pine trees, stretches across the bay like a bridge to the heavens. It offers stunning seasonal scenery — cherry blossoms in spring and vibrant autumn foliage in the fall.
This tour includes a relaxing cruise aboard the Amanohashidate Sightseeing Boat. One of the highlights is feeding the seagulls, which fly alongside the boat in search of snacks — a fun and memorable experience, especially for families and photographers.
After the cruise, take the Amanohashidate Cable Car or Chairlift to reach the mountaintop observatory. The open-air lift gives you the feeling of floating through the sky. At the summit, enjoy the famous “view through your legs”, where Amanohashidate appears like a dragon soaring into the sky — a phenomenon known as the “Flying Dragon View.”
For lunch, indulge in a traditional Amanohashidate set meal. This meal showcases local ingredients and flavors, providing a delightful culinary experience that complements the day's exploration.

●Lunch in Amanohashidate
During your visit to Amanohashidate, enjoy a hearty Japanese-style lunch featuring local seafood and mountain produce. The meal includes satisfying dishes such as crab, fresh seafood, and hot pot with vegetables — both flavorful and filling. Take a relaxing break during your trip and warm both body and soul with a delicious meal.

●Kayabuki no Sato (Miyama Town)
Miyama Kayabuki no Sato is a traditional Japanese village located in Miyama Town, where over 50 thatched-roof houses stand together in a rare and well-preserved area. Even today, people continue to live here, and the village retains the rich atmosphere of Japan's rural landscapes and traditional way of life.
