The activities were very varied, and the time allotted to each activity was well-judged (neither too long nor too short). We had a special experience at Quinta de Santa Júlia, nestled in the extraordinary landscape of the Douro Valley, home to some of Portugal's finest wines. During the visit, we tasted two Douro wines and two Port wines, each with its own distinct identity, capable of revealing the history of the region in a single sip. We also sampled an excellent local extra virgin olive oil, intense and rooted in the region's agricultural traditions.
Our guide, Mariana, passionately shared the history of the estate and the family, even recalling how their wines reached the royal family of England. She explained the Douro castes, winemaking methods, and how to approach wine with greater awareness.
The tour took us through vineyards, gardens, and even into the Quinta's traditional kitchen, making the visit complete and immersive. A journey through flavors, history, and traditions that we recommend without hesitation.
