Tasman Glacier Ski Plane Scenic Tour
This Aoraki / Mount Cook snow plane flight is the ultimate way to admire the Southern Alps. The plane will cross the main divide to reach the West Coast, offering spectacular views of Fox Glacier and Franz Josef Glacier. Traveling north along the Tasman Sea, it then crosses the snow-capped peaks of the Southern Alps again, landing on the Tasman Glacier where travelers can disembark for photos (approx. 10 min) before boarding to continue the scenic flight.
As you drive south along the Tasman, you can enjoy the magnificent views of Aoraki / Mount Cook National Park. Fly over the vast plateau and Hochstetter Icefall, pass by the eastern side of Aoraki / Mount Cook, and then land by the shores of Lake Tasman.
This is a 45-minute experience that circles all the major geographical features of Aoraki / Mount Cook National Park. Aoraki / Mount Cook is the highest peak in our national park, standing at 12,349 feet. As the centerpiece of the national park, this circular flight showcases all the iconic geographical features of New Zealand's region.
On the eastern side of the main divide, you'll see New Zealand's longest glacier, the Tasman Glacier. Then we'll cross the main divide to the West Coast to visit Franz Josef Glacier and Fox Glacier. We'll circle back to the eastern side of the Southern Alps into Hooker Valley, then return through Tasman Valley to land back at our starting point.
