Reviews: Rila Monastery day tour with Optional SPA/Thermal baths

Rila Monastery was beautifully located in the mountains outside of Sofia. The guided tour was less interesting than walking around on your own, exploring the place. Transport was great, and spa was decent.

The experience is exactly as described in the app. Very well organized and properly timed. You get to see a glimpse of the historical and cultural sites along with a local taste at one of the oldest restaurants in Bulgaria (Limoncheto - very tasty food with authentic atmosphere & reasonable prices - yes you read it right). The tour’s guide called Yadoslav is very knowledgeable about Bulgaria’s history - he gives you insightful information in a subtle way. Moreover, he goes the extra mile by engaging with the participant and discussing commonalities between the two cultures (if any) and recommending the best places in town to visit and explore. I really enjoyed my time. An experience not to be missed.
