This Melbourne day trip was a great experience. The itinerary was well-organized but not rushed. The steam train was truly unique, and the scenery along the way was exceptionally beautiful, perfect for taking photos.
Watching the penguins return to their nests at Phillip Island was definitely worthwhile. The atmosphere was fantastic, and seeing so many penguins returning to their nests together for the first time was a truly memorable experience.
The sea view from Nobbes Point was also breathtaking; it was quite windy, but the scenery was stunning. The tour guide did a good job overall, managing the time effectively and allowing us to experience many of Melbourne's iconic sights in one day. Overall, it was a very enjoyable trip and I would highly recommend it.ā

It was a wonderful experience exploring the other side of Melbourne. John was an incredible guideāso warm, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. He went above and beyond to look after everyone in the group and shared fantastic local tips to ensure we all got the absolute most out of our time. Very tight itinerary but everything is on schedule. Puffing Billy Steam Train is highly recommended!! And for the Penguin Island, I think people should bring along their telescope to see the penguins coming up from the sea, it's too far away from the viewing area, phones and cameras are not allowed. The tour guide shuttle bus is very smelly, not sure where the smell comes from, feel sick staying in the car.ā

It was a great half-day out to experience the nostalgic Puffing Billy. Started with a short rainforest trek and then concluded with the 1 hour journey with limbs dangling out of the slow-moving train. Nathan was an excellent guide and driver and the only one negative was the use of the back-up Diesel Locomotive rather than the Steam Driven celebrity!ī„
