We arrived at 1 a.m. We didn't have to pay for the service. There were people there, but I think we would have gotten through within an hour. As it was, we got through in 15 minutes.

I booked a VIP tour this time, and the itinerary was very packed, with five or six boat trips in total, making it a fairly in-depth tour. The Mekong River didn't look very clear; the water was quite yellow and covered with water hyacinths, but there was no unpleasant odor. The island had many plants (various fruits) and animals (pythons, crocodiles, catfish, etc.), and the guide led the tour, providing very enthusiastic explanations. At the narrow section of the river where boats were manually rowed, the guide mentioned that a tip was expected for the rowers. Before the tour ended, the guide suggested that if we were satisfied with the trip, we could also tip him; I felt I had to give him something, otherwise I'd feel awkward.

The food, the Saigon River cruise, the live music... it was all a wonderful experience. The cool river breeze at the end of the year and the night view of the skyline and buildings along the Saigon River were especially beautiful. However, I'm not sure if table assignments are split between the second and third decks. I was disappointed that I couldn't reserve a table on the deck I wanted. The staff were all friendly, and the service was well-organized and organized, ensuring that each table was well-managed, making dinner on the cruise a pleasant memory.

The overall experience can be described as one of the highest-standard buffets in Ho Chi Minh City. From the quality of the ingredients and the consistency of the dishes to the dining environment and service details, you could feel the Nikko Hotel's consistent rigor and professionalism. It's not just a gimmicky "lots of seafood," but a restaurant with a very high level of overall quality. First, the dining environment. La Brasserie is spacious, with well-spaced seating, so even when it's full, it doesn't feel cramped or noisy. The overall decor is understated and elegant, with soft lighting and a clear flow, ensuring that you don't disturb others while getting your food—very much in line with the standards of a high-end hotel restaurant. Tables were kept neatly organized, tableware was set out properly, and the cleanliness was maintained. During the meal, the staff promptly cleared plates and refilled water, making the overall process smooth. The seafood section is the biggest highlight here. The oysters were fresh and odorless, and replenishment was quick, eliminating the need for empty plates. The shrimp and crab were also exceptionally fresh, with firm, flavorful meat, demonstrating meticulous preparation and preservation. This is rare among buffets in Ho Chi Minh City, as many restaurants offer a wide variety of seafood, but the quality is inconsistent. La Brasserie excels in this regard. Besides the cold seafood dishes, the cooked food section was also highly refined. Whether it was Western-style steaks, stews, pasta, or Vietnamese hot dishes, the quality was far from haphazard; rather, it was a carefully balanced and controlled flavor. Seasoning was not overpowering, preserving the natural taste of the ingredients, which was a significant plus for travelers who prefer less oily or salty food. Freshly sliced meats and hot dishes were consistently served, maintaining quality even during peak hours. This is especially important during busy periods. The kitchen and front-of-house operations demonstrated excellent coordination, with a well-controlled replenishment and serving pace. The dessert and fruit sections were equally impressive. The dessert selection is diverse, ranging from Western-style cakes and tarts to chocolates and ice creams, all with a moderate level of sweetness that isn't cloying. The fruit is fresh, replenished promptly, and neatly presented, making it not just a decorative element but an integral part of the overall dining experience. In terms of service, La Brasserie maintains the professional standards consistently found at Nikko Hotels. The staff are friendly but not overly intrusive, communicate fluently in English, and provide prompt assistance with food orders or seating requests. Even during peak hours, the overall service quality remains consistent, which is crucial for a high-priced buffet. Regarding price and overall value, La Brasserie is indeed on the higher end of the Ho Chi Minh City buffet list, but considering the quality of the ingredients, the dining environment, and the level of service, it is still considered "reasonably good value."

Very good experience! Service is very good and cruise will bring you to see the beautiful night views of Saigon. Food is average but the ambience is 100%! There is live performance and also magic shows. Very entertaining. Highly recommend everyone who comes HCM to come experience this luxury dinner cruise experience!
