The hike is full of wonderful views, culminating in a waterfall. The hike takes about 5 hours, passing through a tunnel along the way. A flashlight is useful.

Our Tukxi driver customised our trip as it was our first stay in Madeira. We were taken to the fishing village, Up to the fort of John the baptist and to see the statue of Jesus Christ.

We had a brilliant day trip. There were just two of us and Richard, our guide, was very friendly and knowledgeable. His careful and considerate driving made travelling between each stop of the tour really relaxing and enjoyable and we never felt rushed when visiting each place. We would happily recommend Heartbeat Madeira to anyone visiting Madeira as Richard is an excellent tour guide.

The walk was very enjoyable. Not too taxing and scenic. We had lunch after in a location booked by our guide Marco. The food was great and so was Marco! He was so well informed and enabled us to learn so much about the history of Madeira .

Fabulous 8 hour trip. Superb driver who was really chatty and informative. We visited one of the mountain peaks, Santana village, did a levada walk through a unesco forest, a sky walk and a rum tasting. Lucy told us a lot about the history of the island and showed us the wonderful vegetation.


