Reviews: Chamonix + Mont Blanc + Geneva day tour in France and Switzerland|Optional Aiguille de Midi cable car
Guest User2025-08-16
The itinerary was comprehensive, and the tour guide was professional and attentive. Although the boat trip couldn't be done on the same day, the second day's boat tour of Lake Geneva felt like a private boat trip, a truly wonderful experience.

The snow-capped mountains were beautiful. There are many buses from Geneva to Chamonix, taking about an hour and a half. I chose the Aiguille du Midi, which was definitely worth it. The cable car wait was a bit, but not too long, and it wasn't too tiring. There are many souvenir shops nearby. The weather was clear at the summit, a rare sight indeed. I even saw Mont Blanc! Although the cable car to Mont Blanc wasn't running, the snow scenery was still beautiful. You should spend about three hours exploring the Aiguille du Midi. The town of Chamonix is lovely, with many restaurants and accommodations. If you have time, I recommend staying overnight. In the afternoon, I went to the glacier, took the little train to see the snow-capped mountains, and took beautiful photos of the glacier – it was spectacular! I heard there are also ice caves, but I didn't have time in the afternoon. I was in a rush to get back to Geneva, so I didn't go to the ice cave. There were many tourists returning to Geneva in the afternoon. I squeezed onto a bus around 5 PM. There are also buses that go directly to Geneva Airport, thankfully I arrived early. Some people who arrived late had to wait for the next one. If you want to do a day trip, it's best to choose a Saturday, as there are more buses on Saturdays, and the latest bus back to Geneva is at 8:30 PM. Chamonix's temperature is very changeable. It was quite cold when I arrived in the morning, but incredibly hot when I returned to Geneva in the afternoon. Then the bus air conditioning broke down, and the bus windows were fixed in place and couldn't be opened. Several Indian passengers in the back complained a lot. I happened to be sitting in the front, and I had just bought a fan, so it wasn't too bad. If you have time, you should definitely go there to see the snow-capped mountains.
