This activity offers exceptional value for money and is highly recommended. We departed from Canggu at 6 PM, boarded the boat at the Bali pier at 10 AM, and arrived at the Ijen Volcano parking lot at 12:30 PM. The volcano gates don't open until 2 PM, so we rested at a small shop in the parking lot while waiting. We arrived at the Blue Flame Point at 3:30 PM. It was already slightly light around 4:30 PM, so we had to keep up our pace to avoid being stuck in traffic. Seeing the Blue Flame was truly breathtaking; you could see the lava flowing slowly, and the flames shimmering blue. We couldn't see the sunrise in autumn, but we could wait at the summit for dawn to see a stunning sea of clouds and the sulfuric acid lake. Don't miss the 2 AM hike experience—immerse yourself in the beauty of nature. The entire trip includes private transportation, a guide, gas masks, headlamps, and goggles—a complete service that offers incredible value.

I'd like to introduce you, travelers, to Kim-Kim and his team, who responded to our tour booking when others weren't offering it until the next day. He waited for some at McDonald's in his red bus, while others had to be picked up. You'll all get to Ijen and see what you wanted. But be prepared for a long journey up the volcano, first by bus, and then, after a rest and briefing, you'll receive respirators and headlamps; jackets are available for rent. Although, from personal experience, I can say that overdressing isn't a good idea. By the time you're hiking the five kilometers up, you'll be soaking wet you'll have to take everything off within the first kilometer. Jeans, a T-shirt, sneakers, and a cap were enough for me. I took off my sweatshirt along the way and only put it back on at the very top, waiting for sunrise. The wait wasn't long, about twenty minutes. When you get to the place where everyone greets the sunrise and Kim-Kim's team makes you coffee or tea depends only on you, your endurance and desire to linger at different points.

We had an amazing experience hiking to the Ijen volcano. We didn't fancy going into the crater so we asked if we could leave a little later and just go for sunrise, they were really accommodating and sorted everything out for us. The hike was great, and our tour guide Yadi was fantastic, really nice and interesting guy and spoke great English. We got a perfectly clear morning and the view was incredible. Would highly recommend East Java Paradise Travel, very professional, got back to any messages straight away and made everything really easy for us.


