Reviews: Local Vineyard Tour & Wine Tasting at the Independence Valley

Zulma was a great guide and assistant to the hostess, Berta. We had a group of 6 friends. We made several sauces, empanadas, and chicken pobil, and a coconut dessert. Everything was so delicious! We were too full for dinner! Loved trying new ingredients!

We were the only 2 people on our tour it was dead there were 4 other people that showed up for drinks and food and we could have done that for just a cab ride. The tour was OK and interesting but not for $300+$ The food was great and the wine was FABULOUS! The winery building and architecture is amazingly beautiful as is the barrel room downstairs, that you wouldn't see unless you did the tour. The tour I thought came with food it was like 3 crackers and 3 cheese slices and no crackers. We were starving! A larger 2 tours came later in the afternoon we were the AM one so I would book later in the day more ambiance.

We loved our tour at Tres Raices. Our guide was knowledgeable and encouraged questions. The winery is spotless and beautiful. The wine pairings were unbelievable. We had a group of 9 and almost everyone bought wine at the end so we could enjoy the great wines for the rest of our trip.

We had so much fun, tasted so much chocolate and learned a lot about the history of San MIguel and the history of chocolate in the region and in Mexico. Highly recommend Elisa as a guide! She is very knowledgable and a great communicator.
