Reviews: Sheep World Country Tour from Auckland

This was definitely an amazing tour made even more amazing by our wonderful tour guide Janine, who did everything to ensure we had the most wonderful experience. We started at the Domain Wintergardens which are so compact and beautiful and the photos you can take there are amazing. We then visited Sheep World Tour which is run by women. We got to watch a live demonstration of how the sheep are hearded up and sheared. We also got to feed all the animals which was incredibly special. From there Janine organised us a wine tasting and lunch at Omaha Bay Winery which was perfect for the size group we had. It was intimate and we enjoyed a delicious antipasto platter. We then went and sampled chocolates and honey from around the area which was awesome and everyone bought lots of things. We also visited Parry Kauri and went for a walk in the rainforest which was mystical and beautiful. So I would definitely recommend this tour, and if you are truly lucky you will get Janine.

Over seven days, I learned about the different varieties of tea from Wuyishan, and the joy of picking them by hand was truly unique. Overall, the itinerary could have been more well-planned. For example, listening to Zen meditation in the temple felt like attending a class; it would have been better to sit with the master and discuss Buddhism while enjoying tea. The time spent was considerable, but the master's monologue left little room for interaction. The scenery of Wuyishan is beautiful, with clear waters and lush mountains. I even saw the Impression Da Hong Pao tea. Overall, it was a good experience. The walking tour was well-planned, the weather was nice, the streams in the valleys were babbling, the air was fresh, and the fragrance of flowers and tea along the way was intoxicating. The hotel, advertised as five-star, fell short in terms of actual service.
