We were lucky (!) that the boat trip up the Rock had to be postponed at short notice (to 4 pm), giving us an extra hour of free time in Gibraltar than originally planned. That was just enough time for Main Street, lunch, and the Botanic Gardens. Otherwise, it probably would have been a hectic lunch break. As it was, the day was longer, but it was definitely worth it. We had plenty of time, even at the photo stops. Highly recommended!★

We explored the entire rock on foot. It's very strenuous, as it involves climbing some steep stairs. But it's worth it. The views are fantastic, and visiting the various caves and tunnels is highly recommended.
